the
resident oddball herself...
...We
were standing outside acting goofy, on break from
our grueling task of conducting telephone surveys. I had
been ranting about one of my random points of view,
talking excitedly with my hands like my father.
My
co-worker chuckled, looked at me and said, "You're our resident
oddball!" He later went back up to the office, folded
a scrap
piece of paper, and made me a name-
plate that read "residentoddball".
I've
since lost the paper nameplate, but the title has stuck, becoming
part of my email address, and eventually the outlook of my company,
and really my perspective on life.
I think normal
is ok, but a little overrated.
Weird is a heck of a lot more fun and free.
This
world is a really big canvas and I can't seem to get my hands
on all the different colors of paint fast enough!
